Raising this issue at the first committee meeting this year. What do LBUG members think?

Other BUGs have changed their names recently, eg MBUG became Bike Marrickville, and there is Bike Sydney and Bike North etc.

Any ideas for a new name? Are the days of BUGs numbered? Does LBUG promote the right sort of image to attract the newer cyclists?

There is a survey form now, see under Events. Click on through to the link to the survey, if you haven't already seen the invitation Mick Saunders sent out.

Leading contender "Bike Leichhardt" is fine though (as an outside resident) I'd also consider something less suburb specific such as "Inner West Wheelers"

39 voters now. Bike Leichhardt is number one preference of 38.5 % of voters. Leichhardt Cycling Club is second at 20% and LBUG is a close third. So not clear cut to change the name- would we need to get to 50 % before we did? A couple of days left if anyone hasn't voted yet.

I agree as we dont all live in the area Did not know there was a vote on I like Leichhardt cycling club Or LCC bug

The Committee met tonight and it was decided that we will change our name to Bike Leichhardt. Looking for ideas for a new logo and club colours, and a design for a cycling jersey. Do we have any designers in the club that could assist? We may be able to get a jersey made up by a local company, where we can go and inspect some samples.
