Yes lovely day. Sorry you missed it Mike but thanks to everyone else for coming along and for Bob for leading. And recommend changing trains at Wyong ... it was virtually empty and worth waiting 20 minutes for

Great ride, thanks all. The wind was strong at times, but we did it! Just gotta get into the right gear, head down and into it. Fernleigh was a delight, mostly sheltered. Recommend the Gunyah pub for a lunch stop.

Mike has come down with a bad cold, and is in some doubt as to leading this ride on Sunday. Please stay tuned for a decision tomorrow on going or not going. Could be a local ride on instead.

Hi. I check the timetable and the train
Leaving central does not go to Adamstown. So I suggest we ride from broadmeadow to Adamstown.
Also I might u guys on the train at Straithfield due to a possible amended timetable. We shall see.

Can see some photos of the Fernleigh Track in the Photo section, search for Fernleigh. Very smooth two way shared path along an old railway.

Sorry Bob. Mistook the definition of off road as in cycle path

I have reasonably to believe the fernleigh track is all refurbished. I think it is all concrete.

The Fernleigh bit is all off road. You could easily do it yourself, Adamstown to Belmont, then return, although it's all uphill on the way back. Requires a little more navigation and some on road cycling to get to Toronto. Toronto to Fassifern is easy, along a cycleway, but only short.

We will see how this ride goes. We will definitely be doing the two day version, Tuggerah to Newcastle again next summer most likely.
